Marty Weiser Launch report

May 9, 2016

Thanks to everyone that came out and flew. As stated before the conditions were very good and better than expected. We set up near the middle of Emmerson's field since the wind was from the NNE so we keep the rockets out Norm's field and the trees. The winds died down from the early morning and actually shifted direction a bit. I think our longest recovery was about 1000 ft. Scout Troop/Pack 370 from the Spokane South Hill came out flew a bunch of rockets so we had 76 total flights on 82 motors. Their rocket of choice was the Flis Kit doodad on the B6-4 for a bunch of flights. This looks like a really easy, solid first rocket, but I think it could use a bit longer streamer. Joe could not make it to the launch so we expected David Glass would have the most flights. However, Noah Smith earned that honor with 10 flights to David's 7. Perhaps we need to handicap this contest since Noah is in his teens and David is recovering from a blown out knee, had some high power flights and one flight with air starts. Alan Roberts had a couple of nice H powered flights, but his line cutter that reefed the chute did not work as planned. I had the largest motor flight with a K513 in the EWU Golden BBQ to 1196 ft. - check out the EWU Rocketry Facebook page for some pictures and data. The motor breakdown was. A 3 B 43 C 17 D 6 E 2 F 3 G 1 H 6 I J K 1 Two stage - 4 Airstart - 1 (2 motors)
