September launch cancelled

September 11, 2007

Dear SPARC Rocketeers, I called county fire marshall Joe today, and he said that he could not approve our launch set for Sunday, September 16th due to the extreme fire conditions and the fact that no rain is in sight for this weekend. Therefore, the SPARC launch is cancelled. As SPARC president Bob Yanecek suggested, some of you may want to travel to Dayton and join the Blue Mountain Rocketeers for this weekend's launch. The good news is that Terry Moore is planning a SPARC launch for Saturday, October 6 (or possibly Sunday, October 7) -- fire conditions permitting, of course. Terry will be contacting you with more information at the launch date approaches. Take care, Jeff Halstead
