November 05 meeting Minutes

December 3, 2005

We started with a discussion of the club officers. As far as I know all except Krys want to remain as officers. Current officers are; Ray Stoner - President, Mark Howe - Vice President, Bob Yanecek - Treasurer and Krys Davidson - Secretary.

Krys would like to step down as Secretary and Charla Davidson (her daughter) would like to throw her name in the pot as being the Secretary. If you would like to be an officer post to the list, or send me an email by the 17th of December. If no one runs, the officers will remain as they are currently, with the exception of Krys. I someone would like to run, then we'll hold an election. Of course, if someone runs and another of the officers decides to step down, then no election will be required. Again, let the list or myself know by the 17th of December.

The launch schedule was set for the 2006 flying season;

Saturday - March 11, 2006
Saturday and Sunday - April 8-9, 2006
Saturday - May 13, 2006
(Fire in the Sky at Mansfield is scheduled for May 27-29, 2006
Saturday and Sunday - June 10-11, 2006
July will be a fire danger permitting launch
August we have never held a launch in August, but if fire danger permits we'll do it this year
Saturday and Sunday - September 9-10, 2006
Saturday - October 14, 2006
Saturday - November 11, 2006

July and September are subject to cancellation due to Fire danger. Our neighbor to the south will help us make the call one week prior to launch...

The Flier will be updated to reflect the new launch date, along with the following changes;
The note in the map indicating where Hobby town is located will also show that the club meetings happen the 4th Saturday of the month
Jerry Buckles will be removed as a contact point, Marty will be added in his place along with contact info.
There will be a comment added of "please, no calls after 8 pm".

The waiver will remain at the current altitude and the club imposed special criteria for over 7K flights will also remain in place. I will file the waiver for 2006.

GSE maintenance was discussed. There is a lot of work that needs done. The work discussed at the meeting was;
Door repair, there are two that are pretty heavily damaged
A electrical check out of the pads needs to be done, the low power "b" rack has at least one pad failing
A mechanical check out of the pads needs to be done, one high power pad is broken and needs welded, one of the mid power pads is non functional, the low power pads need reconstruction, they are cracked on the end where the post goes in.
I am sure there are other things that you may have noticed that need attention, please speak up about the things that need work.
If you would like to tackle a specific project, please speak up.
We need to schedule a work party to perform the repairs prior to the flying season, sometime in January was discussed. Reply with your thoughts for a date, and lets get it scheduled.

Loaning the TARC team in Colville a high power pad and rail during the off season was approved. Bob will coordinate delivery or pick up.

We are out of flight cards, a new flight card will be designed and posted on the website. It will be a 4 up (8.5x11 sheet of paper) design that is simple to fill out, with a large comment section for flyer notes.

The club is in good financial status. Balance in the club account at meeting time was $344.20 with only one expected disbursement for the porta potty remaining for the year.

There are TWO official members of SPARC for the 2006 season thus far, feel free to sign up and pay your dues early! Registration and dues should be sent to Bob Yanecek, you'll find his address in the newly updated 2006 registration form.

Updating the website was discussed and we'd like to see the following added as permanent links that are prominent on the front page.
